Anyway, being from Belgium myself it was interesting to read that there is this link between Toots Thielemans and John Lennon (I saw in interview with him in the mid seventies where he called his Rickenbacker his most prized possession). He was (is) a decent Jazz guitarist but what he's especially famous for is his harmonica playing, and this he did with many of the all-time Jazz greats. Toots Thielemans is one of the rarest things: a famous living Belgian (and even then, probably not that famous). John Lennon learned about this guitar when he saw Toots Thielemans play it. I stand corrected that it's a 320, not a 325.īy the way, there's an interesting story about this. There were few 325-style models by Greco (Japanese and Korean), including JLG-75 Lennon, but this is not that model (judging by the body shape near the bridge). Which I might do if I come across a 330 or 360 (which does the Smiths / REM jangly thing better). On sale this very cool and still playable guitar after 40 year. I figure at this price if I don't like it I can always sell it again. The guitar looks in very good condition with little or no dings (it's an 81 model if I recall correctly). No seriously, I don't expect this to become my "number 1", but it has its own unique sound, and including Rinkya fees, taxes and shipping it'll cost me about 700 US. When I emerged from my daze I had already bought it. but when the seller said that this item is "vintage MIJ", "giga rare" and made in the "legendary Fujigen" factory it is as if some kind of spell came over me and I had to have it.
